My Little Frosty Snowman

I had fun crocheting this cute, little snowman !

Meet Frosty the Snowman!

I thought Frosty's hat looked lonely so I crocheted a teeny, tiny flower for it.

Here's Teresa's "Crochet Geek" wonderful Frosty Snowman pattern (here) along with a video tutorial.

I didn't see her video until I was working on the head.

Duh!

I recommend watching it first.

She makes the best videos.

Not too badly done for my first one.

LOL!

Let me know if you crochet one too!

My New Santa!

I'm crazy about Santas and Snowmen!

I have a surprise coming regarding Snowmen.

But that's later.

I adore my new St. Nicolas Santa glass blown ornament - a lovely Christmas gift this year.

What do you think of my handsome new guy in the red suit?

It's SNOWING!

It's the beautiful, white WINTERLAND kind of snow!

The snow you watch from the warmth of inside with a fire burning in the fireplace.

The snow you don't have to drive in - just look at and marvel at its beauty.

I finally got around to changing the saying on my little chalkboard - it's more appropriate for WINTER!

Our felted Angel loves hanging in our little green Christmas tree.

And so does the little Gingerbread Man!

One view....and then another.

Thanks for visiting us here at snowy Teacup Lane.

My Lighted Christmas Mickey Mouse

After spending a wonderful Christmas with our brothers and their families we returned home yesterday.   It was a very long drive with snow, sheet and rain all the way across most of Pennsylvania which added an additional THREE hours to our commute - total 11 hours!

We were so tired when we arrived, I suggested we wait until today to celebrate our Christmas.  I knew I would feel much better after a night's sleep and a nice, hot shower.

Santa {{{Hubby}}} treated me like a Queen gifting me with three pairs of beautiful earrings, two Pandora charms and bracelet, some DVDs, a biography of Walt Disney and a mini IntelliScanner to use to easily inventory our books, DVDs etc.

While we were at Ft. Wilderness (Walt Disney World) many of the RVers had this adorable lighted Christmas Mickey Mouse head displayed.

One of the RVers told us they bought theirs at Walgreens.

Well, I assumed it was probably only available at Walgreens in Florida and didn't think about it again.

So... you can imagine how tickled I was when I opened one of my Christmas gifts to find a lighted Mickey Mouse head.

Hubby said he found it at our local Walgreens two days after we returned home.

What a wonderful Christmas!

The best part was spending it with family and my very loving husband.

By the way...I'm not one to immediately take down Christmas decorations just because Christmas is over.

All the Christmas decorations will stay up well past New Years.

So much work goes into decorating I want to enjoy it as much as possible.

Are you one to remove all decorations as soon as Christmas is over or are you like me leaving the decor up to enjoy longer?

I found the perfect spot to hang our new lighted Christmas Mickey Mouse...right next to our Disney Mickey Mouse display shelf!

Merry Christmas 2012!

I hope all of you have a most wonderful Christmas. We are having a blast visiting our brothers and their families.

Tomorrow we head home to celebrate our Christmas in our home.

I made nine Christmas doilies as gifts for my sister-in-laws, nieces and other family members. Hubby said I should crochet one for myself on the long drive home! LOL !

Love to all of you and Merry Christmas!

O' Christmas Tree

I put one slim Christmas tree up this year in the family room. And in a new spot in front of our Danish wall units rather then in front of the windows. We replaced the large sofa bed with two chairs which opened up the space.

I strung red and white berry lights and hung our vintage Shiny Brites along with other ornaments. I didn't load the tree up as much as I have in the past when it was in front of the windows. I placed my Christmas Beanie Babies Bears under the tree.

I cut back on decorating and didn't put up our other slim tree in the living room. I did place a small table top tree in the kitchen but haven't taken any photos of it yet.

The tree looks pretty and we're looking forward to being back home and having our Christmas. But right now we are enjoying visiting our brothers and their families.

Merry Christmas to all!

Another Christmas Doily & Pumpkin Recipe

On our long drive today to spend Christmas with our brothers I crocheted another Christmas Doily (pattern) in red, green and white.

It's snowing here in northeast Ohio, very windy and cold.   We just had a nice, hot meal out and are settled in for the night.  I'm sitting here crocheting another doily with green as the dominant color this time.

Changing the subject...I'm going to brag about a great pumpkin dessert for Christmas that feeds a large family and is so easy to make. For our Christmas BUNCO Wednesday night I made "Pumpkin Pie Dump Cake," a delicious recipe I found on Pinterest. I didn't think to take a photo of it but you can find the link on Pinterest to the blog (here) where you can find the detailed instructions and step-by-step photos.

It's hard to believe it's just a few more days until Christmas. Hope you all are ready for Christmas and are able to spend it with your loved ones.

All Ready...

Everything is done. We're off tomorrow to enjoy Christmas with family. Right when the Mid-West is expecting snow. We have four wheel drive so we should be ok. At least we'll have snow for Christmas!

When A Christmas Throw Is A Tablecloth...

We had a lovely dinner out last night with friends. Two of my crocheted red and green doilies found new homes!

Tomorrow I have a hair appointment so I'll be all prettied up for Christmas. And Wednesday my neighbor is hosting our annual BUNCO Christmas Party. I'm thinking about making something with pumpkin. I've got to check out recipes on Pinterest.

I arranged one of my Christmas circle throws - "Starburst" - on a small round table in our dining room. It fits beautifully. What do you think?

Blogger Problem & Solution for my READERS:

Ok, you all know I'm blogging from my iPhone a lot now. It's just so handy and I love the ease of posting from my iPhone. About a month or so ago I started having problems leaving comments on your blogs when on my iPhone. After some research on the internet I found what appears to be a solution. Apparently - and this is only for bloggers who have Blogger blogs - the problem happens if your blog is set as "embedded" under comments. I discovered my blogs both had comments set as "embedded". So I changed my settings from "embedded" to "full page". Once I made this change I had no problem publishing comments to my blog via my iPhone. So I'm asking you to check your blog, if you are using Blogger, to see how your comments are set. You may be losing comments if yours is set "embedded" like mine was. Just sharing my experience as I'm not a wizard with Blogger. I really want to comment on your blogs so if you don't see me leaving comments, it's because I can't unless you change your comment setting on your blog!

What's Red, Green & White?

Two cute Christmas doilies!

Yes, I REALLY like this pattern

I can't stop crocheting them in different colors.

The red and green ones I made previously are going to new homes today.

These crochet up so quickly and make cute Christmas gifts.

Do you like them in red, green & white?

Red & Green Doilies

I just finished crocheting a pair of red and green Christmas doilies. They are so cute. I used a smaller hook (size F) and my red and green Caron Simply Soft acrylic yarn from my collection. If you would like the pattern send me an email.

I'm feeling better so we were able to complete the outside lights. We even placed some rope lights on our porch and deck railings and two spot lights on our river birch tree in the back yard.

Now to finish decorating our Christmas tree...

Our Mickey Shelf

Remember the neat IKEA shelves my Hubby installed for my computer work station?

Well, we fancied the big one all up with our Mickey (and Minnie) memorabilia from Disney. Our collection includes the Mickey and Minnie Salt & Pepper Shakers and stuffed Christmas dolls from our recent trip to Walt Disney World; the Snowman Water Tower and Mickey Mouse with Mickey Snowmen are Department 56 items; the colorful cutting board and small matching bowl have little Mickey heads all over them; and lastly, and the one I'm crazy about...the adorable Mickey Mouse gnome we couldn't leave Ft Wilderness without.

What do you think of our Mickey Mouse vignette? Not your typical fancy grown up Christmas blogger vignette.

Keep your fingers crossed for me I'm hoping I'm well enough to put the lights outside today. While resting yesterday we finished the Christmas cards so they will be mailed today.

I also threw in photos of a little red and green Christmas doily (pattern) I started last night. I love this pattern. This time I'm using a smaller F hook so it's a tiny doily. I love setting these out around our home at Christmas time.

Have a lovey day!
